Our Story

A place that remembers
why you came.

Lover's Leap Campground sits on a quiet ridge in the George Washington National Forest, just outside Duffield, Virginia. We're not a destination you stumble into by accident — we're the place you find when you're ready to slow down.

Whether you're here with a tent pitched beneath the pines, an RV backed into a shaded pull-through, or a simple desire to hear nothing but wind in the branches, we've kept this ground true to what matters: quiet, clean, and unmistakably wild.

The Experience

What you'll find here —
and what you won't.

Tent Camping

Spacious, level sites beneath a canopy of hardwoods and pines. Each spot offers privacy, a fire ring, and a view that makes you forget your phone exists.

RV Sites

Pull-through and back-in sites accommodate a range of rigs. Clean pads, generous spacing between neighbors, and shade that actually works in July.

Trail Access

Footsteps from trails through old-growth forest and along ridge lines. Hiking, mountain biking, and wildlife watching start right at your campsite.

Stargazing

No streetlights. No light pollution. Just the Milky Way arcing overhead and the kind of silence that makes constellations feel close enough to touch.

Peace & Quiet

No RV hookups that mean noise. No party crowds. Just neighbors who understand that a campground this small exists for one reason: to be left alone.

Romantic Escapes

The name says it all. Sunset views from the overlook, a fire pit for two, and a quiet road home — Lover's Leap was made for couples who want something real.

The Grounds

Every site feels
like the last one.

We don't cram sites together. Each camping spot is spaced for privacy, shaded by mature trees where possible, and positioned to catch something worth looking at — whether that's a valley below or a stand of old pines.

Restrooms are clean and maintained daily. Potable water is available throughout the grounds. And the firewood? We keep a supply at the office so you never have to guess.
